KAMPAR, March 7- Gas explosion occurred in a restaurant at New Town around 11 a.m. and the people near by was getting shocked. Fortunately, there was no immediate word on any casualties.
The restaurant is located in a double storey shop lots near the traffic light entrances. The incident may be caused by lack of air circulation when cooking.
The stationery shop behind that share a same unit shop slot also affected. After the explosion some of the stationery was fall down on the floor.
The front iron gate for the restaurant has been destroyed and there was some debris on the main road. Luckily, the owner of the restaurant just gets flesh wound and other people did not get injured.
Keranji assemblyman Chen Fook Chye said that Kampar Fire Station immediately arrived and investigated the causes of explosion once received a call.
“Everyone should beware and advice to open the doors and windows when cooking.
This is to make sure that there will be a good air circulation to prevent any accident occurs,” said Chen.
